A Legacy Reimagined: The Historical Foundations and Future Vision of National Invest In America Week℠

National Invest In America Week℠ is a forward-facing civic observance rooted in legacy, vision, and national economic reinvention. Celebrated annually from July 1 to July 7, the initiative stands as a natural evolution of the globally recognized movement National Invest In Veterans Week®—the only federally trademarked and congressionally honored veteran business observance in the United States.

This new initiative was catalyzed by a March 6, 2024 public statement authored by Congressman Brian Mast, Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. His post, titled “Invest in America, Invest in Veterans”, articulated the moral imperative of investing in veterans as foundational to sustaining American prosperity. The timing was symbolic—published on the birthday of Angel Shuford, the current President and CFO of National Invest In Veterans Week®, and one of the foremost stewards of civic-driven veteran empowerment.

“Just as these veterans invest in us and our safety, we must likewise invest in the veterans who have sacrificed so much for the greater good.”
— Congressman Brian Mast

  • Celebrated in 19 U.S. states and 21 international locations, National Invest In America Week℠ alongside National Invest In Veterans Week® is a globally recognized initiative amplifying the voices and economic impact of veterans worldwide.

  • Through our parent, National Invest In Veterans Week® we have gained significant traction across the United States, with various states and officials recognizing its importance through proclamations and legislative actions. In South Carolina, the General Assembly passed H 3825, officially commemorating National Invest In Veterans Week in early 2021. This legislative action demonstrates the state's commitment to supporting veteran entrepreneurs and recognizing their contributions to the economy. Montana Governor Greg Gianforte issued a proclamation for Invest in Veterans Week twice (2023, 2024, 2025), highlighting the state's high veteran population and efforts to support veteran-owned businesses. Montana has implemented tax exemptions and other initiatives to celebrate and invest in veterans. Congressman Matt Rosendale addressed the House Floor, emphasizing the economic impact of veteran-owned businesses and calling for continued support beyond the week-long celebration. He highlighted that veteran-owned firms employ over 5 million people and generate an annual payroll of $195 billion.

  • Oregon in 2022, the Douglas County Commissioners issued a proclamation in support of National Invest In Veterans Week®. During their weekly business meeting, Commissioners Tim Freeman, Chris Boice, and Tom Kress emphasized the importance of recognizing and supporting veteran entrepreneurs within the county. The proclamation highlights the significant contributions of veterans to the local economy and community, urging citizens to honor and invest in veteran-owned businesses. Commissioner Tim Freeman read the proclamation and presented 17 Douglas County businesses and 5 Douglas County citizens with ‘Invest in Veteran’s Week’ certificates to honor their service to other veterans, their service to our country, for hiring veterans, and for their veteran-owned businesses. The accolades were divided into three groups: veterans who invest in veterans, businesses that hire veterans, and veteran-owned businesses.
